Douglas Skyraider "naked fanny"

Douglas originally designed the Skyraider to meet World War II requirements for a carrier based dive bomb/torpedo aircraft. The Skyraider was produced too late for World War II. After being delivered in 1946, it became the backbone of naval air attack in Korea. As an outstanding performer, it continued service well into the Vietnam conflict earning numerous names like Able Dog and Spad, until retirement in 1971. Many different variants of Skyraiders were produced, including a six place A-1E, and a single place A-1H with dive brakes. A production run of over 3,100 Skyraiders were built from 1946 to 1957.

North American t-28 trojan

When the United States Air Force set out to replace its aging T-6 Texan trainers, North American was hired to complete the task. What they presented was the piston-engine trainer; a design that was so successful that it was responsible for gaining a contract for two T-28 prototypes. After an evaluation of these prototypes and an initial flight on September 26, 1949, the Air Force was so impressed that it ordered production to begin on the newly designated T-28A. The aircraft then served as a Navy trainer until later being replaced by jet aircraft.
